The American revolutionary war took place between 1775 and 1783 involving Great Britain and its colonies. The treaty of Paris in 1983 ended the revolutionary war. The process of nation-building, on the other hand, occurred between 1776 and 1800 after America gained independence. The process of nation-building between 1776 and 1800 was more revolutionary than the war for independence because it led to the establishment of an independent federal government and a new constitution that used even today.

The nation-building periods brought about huge changes in America. A new constitution was created and ratified that is used in America even today. Moreover, a national government was established during this period. Although the treaty of Paris had brought peace and independence to America, the government was unsettled and unstructured. The congress held a meeting to amend the Articles of Confederation and came up with the new Constitution. The Articles of Federation were weak since they created a feeble feral government (Boyer, 2012, pg 25).  Political parties also emerged to represent the people who supported the constitution and those who opposed it. The republican p arty were the opposers. Additionally, the Congress embarked on a mission to restore the American economy that had been destroyed during war and to offer debt relief. This led to a huge revolution in America to make the nation stable.

Therefore, the process of nation-building was more revolutionary because it led to the establishment of the independent federal government and a new constitution that is in effect today. The war for independence main characteristics were the collaboration of the American and the French troops surrounded and defeated Britain. The Treaty of Paris in 1783 ended the war. Thus, in my opinion the nation-building process brought many impacts that shaped modern America.
