The field of public relations utilizes public media considerably for communications involved in managing public affairs affecting communities locally, nationally, and globally. My engagement in public affairs as a vocational career has given me numerous opportunities to influence the cultural, political, and economic realities of my organization and the community. The challenges associated with public affairs commitments have made me realize the need to advance my education to succeed and grow professionally in this field.I aspire to influence and shape the public view of the world and its communal identities and aspirations. Therefore, I have the conviction that advancing my education will facilitate necessary skills in uncovering the objective truth behind pressing public policy issues, especially in the field of education and find suitable solutions to tackle those issues in the best interests of the public.

I am from Saudi Arabia, and my career in public affairs and policy has mostly been in serving as a member of faculty at a university in Saudi Arabia. Mainly, I taught and coached masters’ students and dealt with matters of educational policy and organizational management. Such roles require integration of public views and private sector interests with state legislature and policies affecting particular aspects of my organization and the community it serves.I have gathered much experience in the management of public affairs requiring multi-tasking and pursuit of divergent objectives for my organization as well as in planning campaign initiatives for furthering various public interests through different forms of public media. My active interest in politics and public policy have aidedmy awareness of topical and current issues that affect our country and the world at large. This has proved vital to my participation in advising client organizations and in brainstorming viable ideas for public policy campaigns. I have a good mastery of communication skills, teaching, and public speaking necessary to deliver key messages confidently while addressing and representing people from diverse backgrounds.

My continued interest in public policy affairs is spurred by concern over improving current technical and managerial policy in the education sector. I aspire to shape its effectiveness in enabling academic achievement and career development of students as a service to my community and country. I realized many social issues plaguing my country are afflicted by partisan politics and are usually examined from perspectives that may distort the underlying facts for the benefit of a smaller group. I am optimistic to advance my county’s politics through new strategies for representing public interests with an unwavering commitment to fair and equal advancement opportunities for all. It is in my best interest to pursue a PhD in Public Affairs to improve my understanding of fundamental concepts surrounding key aspects of public finance, economics, and other technical fields related to public policy.

My choice of the university to further my education is founded on the outstanding reputation of the institution’s courses in impacting quantitative and analytical skills for public policy and relations. During my studies, I plan to devote time to understanding the ethical dimensions involved in making universal policy decisions in the face of competing for public interests characterizing many complex public issues in education, health care reform, economic policy, and environmental protection. I am confident that many aspects of the public policy sector can be improved through better collaboration aimed at finding solutions to existing and emerging problems in industries as well as governance.
